Dating violence is more common than we may realize Dating violence is more common than we may realize but it is preventable. There are resources available to you and your teen. Teaching our kids to seek help is a powerful lesson that they can use throughout their lives. We want teens to realize they are worthy of healthy relationships and there are people who care about their safety and well-being. A New Hope advocate is available 24/7 via our hotline and our office is open Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00p. It takes a village and we want to be part of your support system. #TDVAM2021 #knowyourworth
Preventing teen dating violence needs to start in Preventing teen dating violence needs to start in our homes but talking about topics relating to dating relationships isn’t always easy or comfortable. Many of us weren’t raised in homes where our parents talked to us about consent, body rights, or sex; leaving us to wonder how to approach these topics with our own kids. One way that can break the ice and initiate conversation is using humor. The video linked below (copy and paste link in your browser to watch) talks about consent in a way that is lighthearted and relatable. Reach out to an advocate if you are worried about your teen’s relationship or would like more resources to talk to your teen. You aren’t alone and we are happy to help. #TDVAM2021 #knowyourworth https://youtu.be/fGoWLWS4-kU
